The mortal remains of Lithuanian documentary film-maker Mantas Kvedaravičius have been transported to Lithuania from Ukraine. Media report that the man had been killed near the city of Mariupol, but his Ukrainian associate has said that the real circumstances of his death have been initially falsified to manage to return him home and then reveal what they knew, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT and news portal 15min.lt report.
On Tuesday, April 5, Kvedaravičius’ associate, Ukrainian journalist Albina Lvutina claimed on Facebook that the true circumstances were: «Heartless Russian soldiers abducted Mantas and murdered him. And then just left him there.»

Kvedaravičius’ body reached Lithuania on Tuesday, according to 15min.lt, after being transported through Russia and Latvia. It will be examined by forensic experts.
The Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office stated on Monday, April 4, that it would investigate Kvedaravičius’ death as part of a probe of war crimes committed in Ukraine.
