Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs purchased savings bonds worth 200 000 euros last year, according to his official asset declaration for 2024.
Over the past year, the President’s non-cash savings have increased, reaching 179 144 euros, which is 84 803 euros more than in 2023, when his non-cash savings totalled 94 341 euros.
Of the total amount, 148 924 euros was held in an account at Swedbank, while 1 103 euros was held in the online bank Revolut. An additional 4 213 euros was accumulated through a life insurance policy with Swedbank Life Insurance SE (Latvia branch), and 24 902 euros was held in the Swedbank Open Pension Fund.
At the end of 2022, Rinkēvičs’ savings amounted to 342 472 euros, at the end of 2021 – 448 576 euros, at the end of 2020 – 415 827 euros, at the end of 2019 – 385 833 euros, at the end of 2018 – 344 427 euros, at the end of 2017 – 310 102 euros and at the end of 2016 – 279 327 euros.
In 2023, Rinkēvičs received a salary of 103 262 euros from the Presidential Chancellery, 209 euros in interest from Swedbank, and 12 288 euros in interest from the State Treasury. He also received a 298 euros insurance compensation from Compensa Vienna Insurance Group (Latvian branch)
The declaration notes that the President owns two apartments—one in Riga and another in Jūrmala. He also holds bonds worth 300 000 euros.
