Girl missing in Sigulda found dead

After almost three days, on Tuesday, 28 June, a search party composed of Latvian State Police, municipal police, National Guard and volunteers found the five-year-old girl that previously went missing in Sigulda dead.
The exact cause of death will be determined in the autopsy.
The five-year-old girl Evita went missing around 14:00 p.m. Sunday, 26 June, in Sigulda, Gaujas beach (Peldu Street).
For three days the police and volunteers were searching for the missing girl in the area.
Police commenced a criminal investigation.
During these three days the search was conducted by a large number of people from State Police from Sigulda and police departments from Riga region, State Fire and Rescue Service, Sigulda municipality, National Guard and National Armed forces, State Border Guard, representatives of Bezvests.lv organisation and Helper Latvia, Inčukalns volunteer fire fighters association, LMT representatives and Nature Protection Office.
More than 200 volunteers also contributed to the search both in terms of human resources and in terms of equipment (boats and other equipment).
