Covid-19 cumulative infection index close to 1 000 in Latvia

A total of 7 737 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia in the last three years. 2 605 new infection cases were found, according to data from the Central Disease Prevention and Control Centre.
1 114 of them were non-vaccinated or in the middle of their vaccination course at the time of infection. 1 491 were vaccinated.
Report of fourth deaths were received – one in 70-79 years group, two in 80-89 years group, one in 90-99 years group. Three of them were either non-vaccinated or in the middle of vaccination course. One was vaccinated.

The proportion of positive cases in relation to the number of tested persons is 33.7%, whereas the 14-day cumulative index per 100 000 residents is 948.9.

The cumulative index is close to 1 000. The last time it was that high was the end of April.
A total of 864 329 people in Latvia have been tested positive for Covi-19 since the start of the pandemic.
