After +17°C snow expected: this week’s weather forecast

On Tuesday morning, the skies will be quite cloudy, but as the day progresses, the clouds will disperse, and the sun will shine brightly. No rainfall is expected. In the early hours, fog will persist in the western and central regions of the country. A light to moderate north or northwesterly wind will blow, making the coastal areas cooler, with maximum temperatures reaching only +7 to +11°C. Elsewhere in the country, it will feel spring-like, with the thermometer rising to +12 to +17°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Wednesday and Thursday will also remain dry, with only partial cloud cover. With light winds, fog may continue to form in some areas overnight, especially in the west. On Wednesday night, temperatures will drop to -2 to +3°C, while during the day, the air will warm up to +12 to +16°C, and up to +9 to +12°C along the coast. On Thursday night, temperatures will range between +2 and +5°C, but during the day, much of the country will see highs of +15 to +19°C.

By Friday and through the weekend, northwesterly and northerly winds will strengthen, bringing in significantly colder air. Clouds will become more frequent, bringing precipitation, including snow. At night, temperatures will fall to between 0 and -5°C, and during the day, they will not exceed +5°C.
