On Friday, the 11th of September, skies will be cloudy overnight, gradually clearing from the west. Rain is expected at times in many areas, with thunderstorms and heavy downpours also possible locally, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the day, skies will be partly cloudy. Brief rain is expected only in eastern areas during the morning, while the rest of the day will remain dry. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail, while moderate to moderately strong north-westerly and westerly winds are expected along the coast, with gusts reaching 15–19 m/s and up to 20–22 m/s along the sea coast at the beginning of the night.
In the morning, gusts of 15–16 m/s will persist along the Gulf of Riga coast, after which winds will ease across the entire country.
On Saturday, clouds will bring rain to some areas, with occasional sunny spells in between. Winds will mostly be light, becoming moderate from the west and south-west along the sea coast. During the second half of the night and in the morning, fog will thicken in some eastern areas. Temperatures will fall to +7°C to +11°C overnight, while coastal areas will be warmer at +11°C to +15°C.
During the day, temperatures will rise to +15°C to +19°C.
On Sunday night, skies will be partly cloudy, with rain in some areas. Cloud cover will gradually increase during the day, bringing rain to many parts of the country. Light to moderate south-westerly and southerly winds will prevail. Overnight lows will range from +10°C to +13°C, and from +12°C to +16°C in coastal areas, while daytime temperatures will reach +15°C to +19°C.
Similar weather conditions are expected to continue during the first half of next week, with periods of rain from time to time. Overnight temperatures will remain between +11°C and +16°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +16°C to +20°C.
