Chechnya hit by drone strike for first time, damaged special forces university

A Chechen military training school, the Russian Special Forces University, located in the town of Gudermes, was attacked and set ablaze in a drone strike on Tuesday morning, the 29th of October, Chechen military commander Ramzan Kadyrov said on Telegram, according to Politico and The Kyiv Independent.
It is the first time since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began in 2022 that a drone strike has struck Chechnya.
“Today at 6.30 a.m. in Gudermes, the roof of an empty building on the grounds of the Russian Special Forces University caught fire as a result of a drone attack,” Kadyrov wrote on social media. “No casualties or injuries. The fire has been extinguished.”
He added that “investigative authorities” were working to “identify the persons involved in the crime” and that the school was still operating as normal.
