Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that North Korean-made ballistic missiles were also used in the strikes on Zaporizhzhia, which killed seven people and injured 24, the BBC writes.
Meanwhile, in western Russia, in Voronezh, Ukraine attacked the warehouses of Russia’s largest online store Wildberries.
In a video address on the evening of the 10th of August, Zelensky said that for the first time, Russia is unable to continue the war without help from North Korea. He pointed out that the more North Korean missiles are used in strikes on Ukraine and North Korean soldiers are sent to fight, the better the Russians manage to eliminate shortcomings, and this also poses a threat to the rest of the world. This is not the first time that Zelensky and other high-ranking Ukrainian and Western officials have accused Russia of receiving military assistance from North Korea.
The Ukrainian military has reported that dozens of North Korean missiles have been used in strikes against Ukraine since Moscow began its full-scale invasion.
Zelensky warned over the weekend that the Russian army had been reinforced by around 50,000 North Koreans.
In January 2020, Western officials told the BBC that the North Koreans had lost 40% of their soldiers on the battlefield in three months.
Zelensky on the 10th of August called the Ukrainian strike on a petrochemical plant in western Siberia a very significant achievement and promised that Ukraine would continue its attacks inside Russia to show Russia and the Russians that it was necessary to negotiate peace.
Meanwhile, Wildberries has not confirmed the attack, but reported that employees had been evacuated from the company’s buildings.
