Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Thursday evening that he has instructed the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to launch a 40-day influence operation aimed at pressuring Russia to bring the war to an end.
“I approved a 40-day operation for the Security Service aimed at influencing the aggressor state in order to encourage it to end the war,” Zelenskyy wrote on social media following a meeting with the head of the SBU, Major General Yevhen Hmaru.
Zelenskyy added that the Security Service of Ukraine has demonstrated “the best performance in defending Ukraine’s positions on the front line over the past several months,” largely due to the use of various types of drones.
