This week’s weather will be influenced by the activity of several cyclones, resulting in mostly cloudy skies as multiple precipitation zones move across the country, bringing rain — with local thunderstorms also possible, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
However, the sun will occasionally break through the clouds. Winds will predominantly come from the west and may gust at speeds of 15–19 m/s at times. During daylight hours, air temperatures will generally rise to between +11°C and +16°C across most of the country. Friday is expected to be particularly warm, with temperatures in some places reaching around +20°C. On some nights, the temperature may approach or even drop below 0°C, bringing localized frost.
Current forecasts indicate that the holiday weekend, although starting off warmer and drier, will become cooler and wetter — with windier, rainier, and colder conditions setting in. Similar weather is expected to continue into the beginning of next week.
