Wednesday’s Covid-19 cases in Baltics. 459 in Latvia, 854 in Lithuania and 488 in Estonia

A total of 459 new Covid-19 infection cases were registered in Latvia in the last 24 hours, to the morning of Wednesday, September 8. 380 of the infected residents were either not vaccinated or have not yet completed their vaccination course. 79 new patients were vaccinated, however.
The latest data on Estonia showed a total of 144 878 confirmed coronavirus patients since the beginning of the pandemic. 488 new patients were registered over the past day. A total of 152 coronavirus patients are in Estonian hospitals.
1 305 people have died from the virus in Estonia so far.
The latest data from Lithuania showed 304 600 confirmed coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic with an increase 854 new cases over the past day.
The number of deaths caused by coronavirus complications has reached 4 630 in Lithuania.
52 580 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Latvian Disease Prevention and Monitoring Centre, which means the percentage of positive tests in 0.9%. So far, 2 595 people have died from Covid-19 in Latvia and 138 549 have recovered.
The centre reports that the 14-day cumulative infection index per 100 000 residents is 204.2.

The Latvian National Health Service reports that 206 Covid-19 patients are treated in Latvian hospitals.
