Friday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional clear spells, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC).
Scattered rain showers are expected across much of the country overnight, while during the day precipitation will mainly affect southern Latvia.
Light to moderate northerly winds will prevail, while along the coast northerly to northeasterly winds will remain gusty, reaching 15–16 metres per second. Overnight temperatures will fall to +10°C to +15°C, while daytime highs will range between +18°C and +22°C.
Showers are also expected over the weekend. Rain is forecast in eastern Latvia on Saturday night, spreading across a larger part of the country during the day. On Sunday, rain is expected in western Latvia overnight, while a new precipitation zone will reach eastern parts of the country during the day.
Fog is expected to develop in some areas late Friday night and on Saturday morning, reducing visibility.
According to LVĢMC, northerly winds will continue on Saturday, while during the night into Sunday gusty northerly and northeasterly winds will persist along the coast before gradually easing during the day.
Saturday night will remain relatively cool, with temperatures dropping to +10°C to +14°C, although conditions will be slightly warmer along the Gulf of Riga coast. Daytime temperatures on Saturday will reach +16°C to +20°C.
On Sunday, maximum temperatures will rise to +22°C to +26°C, while coastal areas will see highs of +19°C to +24°C.
Next week, the influence of a high-pressure system will strengthen, bringing drier weather. Although isolated convective rain clouds may still develop, conditions will become noticeably warmer than this week. Daytime temperatures across most of Latvia are expected to reach +20°C to +25°C, with some areas warming to +27°C to +28°C.
