The first half of the week in Latvia will be rainy and windy. Rain is expected every now and then and strong wind is expected along the coast. Weather will remain like that until Mārtiņdiena. Precipitation will calm down and the sun will appear more often after Lāčplēsis Day – less precipitation and more sun, reports Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the first half of the week weather in the country will be dictated by several cyclones. Monday, 7 November, will be cloudy with moments of clear sky. The wind will blow from the south. Fog may form in eastern parts of the country at night. Along the coast, however, south and south-west wind speed will reach 15-16 m/sec. In morning hours air temperature will stay at +2° C… +6° C. Daytime air temperature will reach +6° C… +11° C.
On Tuesday, 8 November, weather will remain cloudy and rainy across most of the country. Air temperature at night will not drop below +4° C… +9° C, whereas daytime air temperature will not rise higher than +8° C… +12° C.
The night to Wednesday will be rainy, but the following day will be mostly clear, with precipitation only in some areas. Nights will remain relatively warm as air temperature stays at +7° C… +12° C.
Weather will start improving in the second half of the week. Although weather will be dictated by a cyclone on Mārtiņdiena, bringing rain to many parts of the country, cyclone activity will go down during the course of the day, atmospheric pressure will increase and precipitation will go down in most of the country in the second half of the day. The wind will blow from the south-west and south. On Lāčplēsis Day the sun will shine more often, the wind will be slow and no precipitation is expected. At night and during the day air temperature will stay between +6° C… +12° C.
According to current forecasts, an anticyclone will approach Latvia from the south – precipitation will calm down, wind speed will go down and fog will form in many parts of the country at night. Air temperature will not change drastically: +4° C… +9° C at night and +7° C… +11° C during the day.
