Warning for motorists: construction work continues on 21 roads in Latvia

Construction work has commenced on 21 sections of the state road network, nine sections of regional roads, three on local roads, as well as seven bridges.
Latvian State Roads (LVC) invites motorists to keep road traffic restrictions and plan their trips accordingly.
As repair work continues on Riga bypass (Baltezers-Saulkalne) (A4) towards Daugava motorway (A6), road traffic is organised on a single lane with traffic signs. The speed limit is set at 50 km/h.
The same speed limit is set for the Liepāja-Lithuanian border (Rucava) section from Liepāja to Bernāti. Construction of a pedestrian and cycling road has commenced there.
The biggest road traffic restrictions are established on the following roads:
on the section of the road Ventspils-Kolka (P124) from Ventspils to Liepāja, four sections of traffic lights, speed limits of 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated time of repair section crossing is 35 minutes;
on the section of the road Kocēni-Limbaži-Tūja (P11) from Umurga to Salkāja, three temporary traffic light sections, a speed limit of 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated repair stage crossing time is half an hour;
on the section of the road Skrunda-Aizpute (P117) behind Kazdanga two reverse movement sections, a speed limit of 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated repair stage crossing time half an hour;
on the Kandava-Saldus (P109) motorway from Zemīte to Kapukrogs, traffic is regulated by traffic lights in three stages. Speed is limited to 50 km/h, estimated transit time of the repair section is 25 minutes;
one temporary traffic light section, speed limit 70, 50 and 30 km/h for the section Mazslati to Zasa in Bebrene-Birži (P72) on the Ilūkste (Virsaiši) motorway. The section can be crossed in 20 minutes;
the bridge over the Vēdzele River on the regional road Tukums Kuldiga (P121) is closed to traffic. The closed section can be driven along the roads Aizstraši Starpiņas (V1478) and Kandava Saldus (P109), it must be planned 20 minutes on the road;
on the section connecting Smiltene-Valka (P24) from Smiltene to the road Blome-Birzuļi-Palsmane (V243) traffic is regulated by traffic lights in three sections, the speed limit is 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated transit time of the repair section is 20 minutes.
