Video: Indian capital’s massive landfill on fire

As the South Asia region experiences a heat wave, a large waste landfill has caught fire near the Indian capital New Delhi, British news portal The Guardian reports.
In New Delhi, a burning rubbish dump choked residents for a third day on Thursday, April 28, as temperatures crossed 45C in parts of the surrounding region. Weather forecasters warned it would get even hotter this weekend.

The Indian states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh imposed power cuts on factories as consumption for air conditioning and fans icreased heavily. Media reports pointed out that power stations were also facing shortages of coal, the main source of electricity in the nation of 1.4 billion people, The Guardian reports.
