Russia refuses to demilitarize area around Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said the demilitarization of the occupied plant is «not being discussed now.» He added that the IAEA mission will come to Zaporizhzhia from the Ukrainian side, accordingly Ukraine will ensure its security.
Russian troops have occupied the plant since early March. Ukraine has been accusing Russian forces of placing artillery near the plant to attack Ukrainian positions, endangering the nuclear facility. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission is on its way to the plant to ensure its safety.

Sumy Oblast Governor Dmytro Zhyvytskyi said that one of the villages of the Krasnopillia community was shelled 16 times from the territory of Russia on Monday morning, 29 August. No casualties have been reported yet.

The U.K. Defense Ministry said in its latest update that independent Russian media outlets have reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is being «side–lined,» with Russian operational commanders briefing Russian dictator Vladimir Putin directly on the course of the war. «Russian officers and soldiers with first–hand experience of the war probably routinely ridicule Shoigu for his ineffectual and out–of–touch leadership as Russian progress has stalled,» the ministry informed on social network Twitter.

Russian shelling of Enerhodar injures ten people. Russian troops shelled the occupied town of Enerhodar in Zaporizhzhia district, where Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant is located, on 28 August, according to Enerhodar’s mayor Dmytro Orlov. Ten locals «received numerous shrapnel wounds» as a result of the shelling and two of them were hospitalized, Orlov informed on his Telegram account.

Donetsk Oblast Governor informs on his Telegram account that Russian attacks killed eight civilians in Donetsk Oblast on 28 August. Four people were killed in Bakhmut, two in Raihorodok, and the rest in Tetianivka and Mykolaivka, said Donetsk Oblast Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko. Seven people were injured in Donetsk Oblast that day, Kyrylenko said.
