The Ukrainian government has been counting the damages Russian troops have inflicted on Ukraine during this phase of Russia’s aggression against the country and plans to seek reparations, Ukrinform reports.
First Deputy Economy Minister of Ukraine Denys Kudin stated on the air of Rada TV channel that Russia has caused USD 119 billion (EUR 108 billion) in damages to Ukraine’s infrastructure. The government official added that the figure would grow with each passing day of the war.

Kudin explained that the Ukrainian Economy Ministry calculates the losses inflicted on Ukraine by Russian troops under two approaches: direct one-time losses – as to how much will the destroyed facilities cost – and the amount of GDP losses due to the actions of the Russian army.
The deputy minister also said that the government in Kyiv was currently preparing lawsuits to be filed at international courts to force Russia to compensate for these losses. It is now very important to gather as much evidence as possible about the damages caused by the Russian army, Ukrinform reports.
