Two prominent members leave Conservative Party’s board in Latvia

Minister of Education and Science Anita Muižniece and former Saeima deputy Krišjānis Feldmans have decided to leave the board of the Conservative Party.
Information from Firmas.lv indicates that Muižniece and Feldmans have left the board, leaving five members – Minister of Welfare Gatis Eglītis, Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns, Minister of Transport Tālis Linkaits, former Saeima deputy Juris Jurašs and vice-mayor of Riga Linda Ozola.
On Saturday, 12 November, the council of the Conservative Party will elect a new chairman and other board members.
As previously reported, the Conservative Party failed to pass the 5% barrier in the 14th Saeima and will not be in the represented in the parliament.
Following the loss in the elections the entire board of the party decided to step down.
Bordāns said he will not run for the chairman’s post again. Instead he will let new and upstanding members of the party have a go at it.
