The first half of the week will be cloudy and rainy

Over the coming days, weather conditions will be determined by cyclonic activity, meaning skies will frequently remain cloudy and rain is expected in many areas. However, temperatures will generally stay mild, with air temperatures in many places remaining within the +15°C to +20°C range, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Monday, the 11th of May, cloud cover will decrease during the day. At the beginning of the night, light rain is expected in eastern regions, while the daytime will pass without significant precipitation. Fog will form in some eastern parts of the country, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southerly wind will blow.

At night, temperatures will drop to between +1°C and +7°C, while in some central areas ground frost of 0°C to -1°C is expected. During the day, maximum temperatures will range between +13°C and +18°C, with some western regions reaching up to +20°C.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be the rainiest days of the week — on Tuesday rain is expected in western and central regions, while on Wednesday rainfall is forecast across the entire country.

Fog will also thicken locally during these days.

On Tuesday, a light to moderate easterly wind will blow, gradually turning southerly from the western part of the country, with this wind direction continuing on Wednesday.

Nighttime minimum temperatures will mostly remain between +5°C and +11°C. On Tuesday daytime temperatures will still rise to +15°C…+20°C, although Kurzeme will already be a few degrees cooler. By Wednesday, temperatures will become noticeably cooler throughout Latvia.

In the second half of the week, nighttime temperatures are expected to remain similar to those at the beginning of the week, while during the weekend daytime temperatures in some places may once again rise above +20°C.

Rain clouds will continue moving across the country, bringing precipitation to some areas.
