Sunshine, fog and approaching rain – what weather can Latvia expect in the coming days?

Wednesday will bring variable cloud cover across Latvia, with sunny spells in some areas. Fog will thicken in central and eastern regions overnight, potentially persisting into the morning and reducing visibility in some locations, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC).

Under the influence of a high-pressure system, the day will remain largely dry, with no significant precipitation expected. Light to moderate southerly and southeasterly winds will prevail.

Overnight temperatures will drop to between 0°C and +5°C, while coastal areas will remain warmer at +5°C to +7°C. During the day, temperatures will reach +8°C to +12°C.

On Thursday, a band of precipitation will move across Latvia from the west, bringing occasional rain to western and central regions.

With light winds prevailing, fog will develop in many areas overnight and during the morning, potentially persisting into the daytime in some locations.

Overnight temperatures will range from +3°C to +8°C across most of the country, while daytime highs will reach +8°C to +13°C.

According to the LVĢMC, Friday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional clearer periods.

While rain is expected only in isolated areas overnight, it will become more widespread during the day.

Localised fog will develop in eastern Latvia overnight and during the morning, reducing visibility. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail, while temperatures will remain similar to those recorded earlier in the week.

During the weekend and at the beginning of November, weather conditions will remain generally calm.

Skies will be mostly cloudy, with occasional sunny intervals and predominantly light winds. However, rain clouds will affect many parts of the country.

As cooler air moves into Latvia, daytime temperatures will no longer exceed +10°C.
