Spring-like warmth expected in Latvia over the weekend – up to +17°C

On Friday, the skies will clear only occasionally, but significant precipitation is not expected. During the night leading into Friday and in the morning, fog may form in some areas, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southwesterly and southerly wind will blow, strengthening in gusts up to 15 m/s along the coast during the first half of the night and in the afternoon, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the night, temperatures will drop to between 0 and +4°C, with slightly cooler conditions in the eastern regions, down to 0…-2°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to +9…+13°C, but it will be a bit cooler along the coast, around +7…+9°C.

Saturday will be dry and sunny, becoming the warmest day of the week – in many places, temperatures will rise to +15…+17°C, with cooler weather only along parts of the coast. On Sunday, however, the skies will cloud over starting from the west, and rain is expected in western parts of the country during the day. Winds will remain light. Overnight into Sunday, temperatures will drop to 0…+5°C, but despite less sunshine, the day will still be warm, with temperatures reaching +10…+15°C, and +6…+10°C in western regions and along the coast.

The first half of next week will remain warm, but in the second half of the workweek, the weather will turn cooler again – daytime temperatures will reach only around +7°C, and cloud systems will bring rain to most of the country.
