Several killed and injured in Russian missile attack in Zaporizhzhia

On the night to Sunday, 9 October, Russian forces fired missiles at Zaporizhzhia. Those missiles hit residential hopes, killing 13 and injuring 89, according to Ukrainian officials.
Missiles hid apartment homes and private homes.
At first Zaporizhzhia City Council’s secretary Anatolij Kurtev reported 17 deaths, but the head of Zaporizhzhia regional administration Oleksandr Staruh later clarified that the number of deaths is 12.

In the afternoon local police reported one more death, which makes deaths from this missile attack reach 13.

Kurtev also reported that approximately 50 apartment homes and 20 private homes were damaged in the attack. Several buildings were destroyed completely.
Deputy head of the Ukrainian president’s office Kirilo Timoshenko reported on Telegram that one of the person’s killed is a child and that 11 out of 89 injured people are children.
According to information from Ukrainian Air Force, approximately 16 missiles were fired on Zaporizhzhia. Among them were four cruise missiles H-22 launched from Tu-22 bombers, two H-59 guided missiles launched from Su-35 fighter jets, as well as anti-air missiles fired by S-300 anti-air defence systems.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called this missile attack ‘absolute evil’ and stressed that those responsible must be brought to justice.

«Zaporizhzhia again. Merciless strikes on peaceful people again. On residential buildings, just in the middle of the night.,»

Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook.
«Absolute cruelty. Absolute evil. Savages and terrorists. From the one who gave this order to everyone who fulfilled this order. They will bear responsibility. For sure. Before the law and before people.»
Russian forces fired missiles on Zaporozhzhia on the night to Thursday, 6 October. According to the latest information, 20 people were killed in that attack.
