Latvian parliament’s press-service reports that since the election of the 14th Saeima in November 2022, a total of seven deputies have received administrative penalties. A report on that was prepared by the Mandates, Ethics and Submissions Committee based on information from the Ministry of the Interior.
According to information from the Penalties Register, deputies Artūrs Butāns and Linda Matisone received administrative penalties for driving vehicles that did not undergo state technical inspection within the required period of time. Edgars Tavars received an administrative penalty for violating road traffic rules within residential areas.
Saeima deputy Inga Bērziņa received an administrative penalty for breaching the pre-election political promotion order or ignoring restrictions for pre-election political promotion. Deputy Glorija Grevcova received a warning for breaching the rules on gatherings, protests and processions.
Deputy Uģis Rotbergs received an administrative penalty for breach of restrictions imposed for officials and for performing functions of a state official in a conflict of interests.
Saeima deputy Jānis Skrastiņš received an administrative penalty for stating false information in a state official’s declaration.
Deputy Linda Liepiņa and Ainārs Šlesers received administrative penalties for breach of isolation, self-isolation, quarantine or home-sitting restrictions, as well as breach of rules that govern commerce and other economic services. Šlesers was also administratively punished for breaching rules on gatherings, processions and protests.
