Monday will be cloudy with occasional sunny spells. During the night into Monday, brief rain is expected in many areas, with thunderstorms possible in some places. During the day, only light rain is expected locally, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Light to moderate southerly and south-westerly winds will prevail, with gusts reaching up to 15 m/s along the coast. Overnight temperatures will fall to +13…+18°C, while daytime highs will reach +19…+23°C, rising to as much as +25°C in eastern parts of the country.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will also be only occasional sunshine, with rain expected in many areas. On Knowledge Day, heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected in some places during the afternoon. Thunder may also still be heard locally during the night into Wednesday.
On Tuesday, light winds will contribute to fog formation in some areas during the night and morning. On Wednesday, winds will strengthen, with light to moderate westerly and south-westerly winds prevailing and becoming gusty along the coast during the day. Overnight lows will range between +12°C and +16°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +17…+22°C.
Towards the end of the working week, precipitation zones will continue to move across the country, with daytime temperatures reaching around +20°C. During the weekend, temperatures will fall by a few more degrees, rain is expected throughout Latvia, and winds will become gusty.
