Rīgas ūdens plans to increase tariffs due to climb of energy resource prices

Due to the climb of energy resource prices there are plans to increase tariffs on services provided by Rīgas ūdens, according to the company’s announcement posted on its website.
The company Rīgas ūdens has submitted to the Public Utilities Commission (SPRK) its estimates, which provide for an increase of the tariff to up to 2.38 EUR/m3 as opposed to the current 1.92 EUR/m3.
Water supply service will increase from the current 0.85 EUR/m3 to 1.02 EUR/m3 (20%). The sewer service tariff may increase 25.68% from 0.74 EUR/m3 to 0.93 EUR/m3. The sewage water treatment fee is planned to be increased 30.3% from EUR 0.33 to EUR 0.43.
If SPRK approves the proposed tariff changes, they may come in force 1 May 2022.

Tariff changes are related to the growing electrical energy, heating energy, gas costs and other related costs.
