Riga to organise public live broadcast of semi-finals and finals of World Ice Hockey Championship

In Riga it is planned to organise public live broadcasts of the semi-finals and finals of the World Ice Hockey Championship.
Mayor of Riga Mārtiņš Staķis wrote on Twitter that Latvia’s capital city and the championship’s organisers will provide public viewing of the semi-finals and finals of the hockey championship at Dome Square and Espanade.

Dome Square already has the necessary infrastructure to broadcast matches. As for Espanade – it is planned to set up a large screen there.

“Hockey stays in the city!” Staķis announced.
As it is known, Latvia’s men’s ice hockey team won against Sweden in the quarter-finals, securing a spot in the semi-finals for the first time in history.

Latvia won with a score of 3:1 (1:0, 0:1, 2:0).

Latvia’s team will face off against Canada again in the semi-finals.
