Riga City Council’s Transport Department requests additional financing to maintain roads

Riga City Council’s Transport Department has requested an additional amount of EUR 4.2 million for road maintenance.
This amount is planned for filling in potholes, replacement of asphalt surface, repairs of pedestrian walkways and other road maintenance related work.
As the city council deputies were told, approximately EUR 3.7 million will be used on streets and EUR 500 000 on pedestrian walkways.

If the requested amount is provided, it will help free up fiscal space in the next year’s budget.
If the money is not provided, repair work will be financed from the next year’s budget.
