Rainy weather is still expected in many areas on Friday, but over the weekend and at the beginning of the new workweek there will be plenty of moments when the sun breaks through the clouds, making the overall weather drier, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At night, as skies clear in some areas, temperatures will drop below 0°C, while during the day temperatures will exceed +10°C in many places. In the second half of next week, cloud cover will increase again and winds will become gustier.
On Friday, intermittent rain is expected, mainly in central and eastern regions. In some areas, heavy showers and thunderstorms are also possible. With a light to moderate northerly wind, fog will form in places overnight and may persist into the morning. Nighttime temperatures will range between +2°C and +7°C, with slightly warmer conditions in northern Vidzeme, while daytime temperatures will rise to +10°C to +15°C in many areas.
Meteorologists report that in the coming days, weather conditions will be influenced by an anticyclone, bringing more favorable conditions.
Over the weekend, clouds will disperse more frequently,
although on Sunday some eastern areas may still experience light rain. A light northerly wind will continue. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between -1°C and +4°C. On Saturday, temperatures will rise to +12°C to +16°C, or +7°C to +12°C along the coast, while Sunday will be a few degrees cooler.
The new workweek will begin with similar weather—sun alternating with clouds, slight frost possible at night in some areas, and pleasantly warm spring temperatures during the day. In the second half of the week, a large cyclone approaching from the north will bring stronger winds across Latvia.
