Participants, masks and distancing. Standing rules for weddings during Covid-19 pandemic

Latvian Ministry of Justice reports rules for weddings during the state of emergency from 25 January until 28 February 2022.
If all participants are vaccinated for Covid-19 or have recovered from it and have a valid certificate, from 25 January onward wedding ceremonies at a registry office or church are allowed to be held in green regime or epidemiologically safe environment, following these conditions:
indoors – marriage is allowed to be registered with participants all wearing masks and maintaining a 2 m distance. Vaccination certificates also have to be checked. Presence of persons who do not meet safe epidemiological environment requirements is not allowed. Each person is to be provided no less than 15 m2 of space of the publicly available indoor space;
outdoors – marriage is allowed to be registered if all participants are wearing masks, maintain 2 m distance from one another, certificates are checked and the presence of people who do not meet the requirements for safe epidemiological environment.
If there are people who are not vaccinated or recovered from covid, and the wedding ceremony is held in an epidemiologically unsafe environment:
indoors – it is allowed to register a marriage with only the groom and bride, two witnesses and a representative of the registration office or priest, with all participants wearing masks and maintaining 2 m distance from one another and each person provided with at least 15 m2 area;
outdoors – it is allowed to register a marriage with only the groom and bride, two witnesses and a representative of the registration office or priest, with all participants wearing masks and maintaining 2 m distance from one another.
The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that marriage registration remains a public service and it should be separated from the private portion of the wedding event, when no more than ten people are allowed to gather indoors and no more than 20 – outdoors.
Priests leading the wedding ceremony have to be vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19.
At the same time, the Ministry of Justice reminds and stresses that from 25 January 2022 onward only medical masks or FFP2 respirators are allowed in public places in Latvia.
