Tuesday will be cloudy with occasional sunny spells. Light rain and drizzle are expected overnight in western Latvia and Vidzeme, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Light rain is also forecast in some areas during the morning and evening. With light winds, fog will form in certain areas overnight and in the morning. From the second half of the night, light to moderate northwesterly and northerly winds will develop in Kurzeme, spreading across the country during the day. Overnight temperatures will range from 0°C to +5°C, with coastal areas and much of Kurzeme a few degrees warmer. Daytime temperatures will reach +6°C to +11°C.
On Wednesday, light rain is expected in some areas during the first half of the night, while rain is forecast in northeastern Latvia in the afternoon. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail. Along the coast, moderate to moderately strong northerly and northwesterly winds are expected during the first half of the night and again in the afternoon, with gusts reaching 15 m/s.
Overnight temperatures will drop to between -2°C and +3°C, while many coastal areas will remain warmer, at +3°C to +6°C.
Daytime highs will be similar to those recorded on Tuesday, although eastern regions will be a few degrees cooler.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, light rain is expected in parts of eastern and central Latvia on Thursday. Light to moderate westerly and northwesterly winds will blow, with coastal gusts reaching 15–16 m/s during the day.
The night will be warmer than the previous one, with temperatures falling to between +3°C and +7°C. Coastal areas may be a few degrees warmer still. During the day, temperatures will rise to between +8°C and +11°C.
Towards the end of the week, gusty winds will persist in some coastal areas. Light rain is expected only on Saturday. Daytime temperatures will remain broadly unchanged, while overnight temperatures in a few areas may approach 0°C.
