On Thursday and Friday, skies will be partly cloudy, with only some light rain expected locally in northern parts of the country on Thursday, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will be light, contributing to the formation of fog in some areas during the night. Night-time temperatures will fall to +8…+13°C in many places, while coastal areas will remain somewhat warmer. During the day, sunshine will raise temperatures to +17…+23°C.
On Saturday, a new cyclone will approach Latvia, bringing a rainy and cloudy weekend. From around midday on Saturday, a broad area of precipitation will move across the country from the west, bringing rain to many areas.
Easterly and south-easterly winds will strengthen along parts of the Kurzeme coast,
with gusts reaching up to 14 m/s.
Temperatures on Saturday night will range between +12°C and +17°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +18…+21°C.
The beginning of the new week is also expected to be cloudy and rainy, with rain clouds affecting nearly all regions at some point. Temperatures are expected to remain similar to those recorded over the preceding days.
