Several Russian missiles struck Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv in the morning on Monday, 10 October, as reported by BBC.
This information is confirmed by the Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko, who reported several explosions in the central Shevchenko district.
Photos and videos posted on social media show smoke rising above the buildings and from streets in multiple locations around Kyiv.

Approximately 90 minutes before missiles reached the capital city, sirens were heard in Kyiv. This is the first time in recent months when Kyiv was hit, and explosions are closer to the city centre than ever before.
According to the latest information, at least eight civilians were killed and at least 24 were injured, BBC reports.

Ukrainian president’s advisor Mikhailo Podolyak wrote on Twitter that this and the recent missile attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro is «yet another proof of Kremlin’s terrorist inadequacy».

Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs condemns Russia’s missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, adding that this way Russia «shows its cowardice and true nature of a terrorist state».

Reports also coming in with attacks on Lviv. This means Russia has performed direct attacks on multiple Ukrainian cities, killing civilians and shelling infrastructure.
