Latvian police punish 20 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

On Sunday, the 17th of March, police punished 20 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as reported by Latvian State Police.
16 motorists were caught drunk driving. Four motorists were caught driving while under the influence of drugs.
11 of those motorists were so heavily intoxicated police had to commence criminal proceedings. Now those motorists have to either relinquish their vehicle or pay its worth in a fine. The four motorists caught driving a vehicle while under the influence of drugs now face criminal liability.
Three motorists caught drunk driving now face administrative liability, as their state of inebriation was not as severe as the rest.
On Saturday and Sunday Latvian police caught and punished 33 motorists who were caught drunk driving.
