Latvian ministries request EUR 2.06 billion for next year’s priorities

Ministries in Latvia have submitted requests for EUR 2.06 billion from the state budget to finance next year’s priorities, as reported by Ministry of Finance.
The ministry has compiled funding requests from ministries and state institutions for priorities.
In total, ministries request EUR 2.06 billion from the state budget to finance priorities in 2023. The indicative amount outlined for future years reaches EUR 2.68 billion in 2024 and EUR 2.78 billion in 2025.
According to information from the Ministry of Finance, the biggest amount – EUR 512.568 – is requested by Ministry of Health, followed by Ministry of Economics (EUR 355.66 billion), Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development (EUR 273.904 million), Ministry of Education and Science (EUR 241.375 million) and Transport Ministry (EUR 189.614 million).
Ministry of Welfare requests EUR 139.946 million to finance priorities in 2023, Ministry of Culture requests EUR 91.713 million, Ministry of the Interior – EUR 86.608 million, and Ministry of Agriculture requests – EUR 66.14 million.
Ministry of Justice requests EUR 20.851 million from the state budget, Ministry of Foreign Affairs – EUR 18.646 million, and Ministry of Finance requests EUR 15.592 million.
