Heating energy tariff in Ādaži municipality Kadaga risks quadrupling

The heating energy tariff in Ādaži municipality Kadaga is at risk of climbing sharply, according to information from the municipality’s official website.
SIA Balteneko has submitted the heating energy production tariff plan to the Public Utilities Commission.
According to this plan, the heating energy tariff for boiler house in Kadaga may increase from 34.13 EUR/MWh to 133.02 EUR/MWh.
Balteneko explains this tariff change with increased costs, introduction of excise tax, increased natural resource tax and cessation of operations of CHP plants.
The new tariff may come to force 1 February 2022.
Ādaži council will hold a meeting on 7 December. Representatives from Balteneko are invited to provide explanations about the planned tariff increase.
Proposals and suggestions regarding the tariff plan can be sent to SIA Balteneko or the Public Utilities Commission within 20 days following the publication of the announcement.
According to information from Firmas.lv, Balteneko was registered in 1997. The company’s base capital is EUR 885 603. 80% of shares are owned by Latvia-based Biotop. The true beneficiary is one Edgars Vīgants.
In 2020 Balteneko workers with turnover of EUR 683 962 and losses a little over EUR 100 000.
