Latvia can look forward to a warm and largely dry week, with only isolated showers expected at the beginning of the period, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVGMC).
On Monday, skies will be partly cloudy. Brief showers are still expected in some areas, mainly in the eastern part of the country, while thunderstorms may develop during the night and again in the afternoon.
Fog will form in isolated areas overnight and during the early morning hours, significantly reducing visibility. Light to moderate northwesterly to northerly winds will prevail. Overnight temperatures will range from +15°C to +19°C, while daytime highs will reach +23°C to +28°C. Coastal areas will remain slightly cooler, with temperatures between +20°C and +25°C.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, sunny spells will alternate with clouds. Although isolated showers remain possible on Tuesday, mainly overnight and during the morning, overall precipitation will become less frequent.
According to the LVGMC, Wednesday is expected to bring dry weather to most of Latvia. Light to moderate northerly winds will gradually shift to westerlies during the day. Night-time temperatures will fall to +13°C to +19°C, while daytime temperatures will climb to +23°C to +26°C, remaining a few degrees lower along the coast.
The second half of the week will remain calm and predominantly dry. No significant rainfall is expected, and only a small amount of cloud cover will allow for plenty of sunshine across much of the country.
Winds will stay light throughout the period. Night-time temperatures will generally range from +12°C to +17°C, while daytime temperatures across much of Latvia are forecast to reach +25°C to +26°C.
