Day 40 of war in Ukraine: West seeking accountability for Bucha atrocities, Russia organises mobilisation

In Ukraine, on Monday, April 4, Russian occupation forces attacked with missiles the southern city of Milkolaiv. In liberated towns near Kyiv, the number of killed civilians grew and western countries called for investigating the crimes and trying the criminals. Ukraine has claimed that Russia has begun a mobilisation of army reserves, Ukrainian public broadcaster Ukrinform and British BBC report.
Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych of Mykolaiv stated on Monday that Russian troops early on Monday launched several missile attacks against the city. Earlier, one person was killed and 14 were injured after a missile strike against Mykolaiv on Sunday, April 3.
As Russian troops retreated after the lost battle of Kyiv, Ukrainian troops followed them and have discovered in the liberated towns of the Kyiv Region evidence of large-scale atrocities. A large number of killed people have been found.
For example, a mass grave was found in Bucha, liberated from the invaders, where almost 280 people were found. Dozens of bodies were found motionless on the streets, some of them with their hands tied.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba spoke of a phone call with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney and thanked Ireland for the readiness to insist on applying new severe EU sanctions against Russia.
«Spoke with my Irish counterpart Simon Coveney. Informed on the horrendous Russian war crimes in Bucha. Grateful to Ireland for standing ready to insist on applying new severe EU sanctions. Russia must pay a much heavier price for its atrocities and sadism,» the Ukrainian Foreign Minister wrote on Twitter.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres wrote on the microblogging site: «I am deeply shocked by the images of civilians killed in Bucha, Ukraine. It is essential that an independent investigation leads to effective accountability.»
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the atrocities genocide against the Ukrainian people.

Mobilisation in Russia
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed without providing evidence that Russian military and political leadership has begun the covert mobilization of reservists aiming at gathering about 60,000 people for battle in Ukraine. Private, sergeant and officer corps were subject to mobilization and the main regions for measure were the Krasnodar Krai, the Perm Krai, the North Caucasus’s Republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia and Kalmykia.
