Cyclone will alternate with a high-pressure area, changeable weather expected

Weather conditions will be changeable early in the week: on Monday, the 12th of October, the weather will be influenced by a cyclone over the Baltic Sea; on Tuesday, this will be replaced by a high-pressure area; and on Wednesday, a new cyclone will approach. The wind will subside slightly, leading to widespread fog formation early in the week, though the wind will pick up again by midweek, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Skies will be mostly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday, with only occasional clear spells. Brief periods of rain are expected—including localized heavy downpours overnight into Monday—and thunderstorms are possible along the coast. With light winds, fog will form in many areas overnight and persist in some places into the morning.

Temperatures will drop to +4…+9°C during the night, while daytime highs will range from +8°C to +13°C.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy on Wednesday, with fog still forming in some areas overnight and in the morning;

however, as a new cyclone approaches Latvia from the west, the wind will gradually strengthen, becoming a moderate southerly to south-westerly wind that will be gusty along the coast. Minimum nighttime temperatures will be similar to the previous day, while daytime highs will be a few degrees warmer.

By the end of the work week, the rain will subside and the sun will appear more frequently; gusty winds are not expected until Sunday, when the weather will likely turn wetter and windier again.
