Coming days will be wet and windy

In the coming days, as the atmospheric pressure drops, the weather will be cloudy and precipitation, mainly rain, is expected in the whole territory of the country, and the wind will increase, according to the Latvian Centre for Environment, Geology and Meteorology.

Wednesday will be cloudy, with only a few sunbeams breaking through the cloud cover. As during the night hours, rain is expected at times during the day, but it will be light. Fog will also form in some areas. Winds will be light, mainly from the west. During the daylight hours, air temperatures will remain in the +4…+9°C range.

Thursday and Friday will remain cloudy, but the sun will shine over a wide area. Rain, possibly wet snow, can still be expected in the central and eastern parts of the country overnight Thursday and in the morning hours, but precipitation will taper off later. On Thursday, there will be a slow to moderate north-westerly, westerly breeze gradually turning from the south-west, south and gusting along the coast during the day.

Overnight Thursday, the thermometer will dip below 0°C in parts of the country, with a change after the warmest night expected in the south-east, where the air will not cool more than 0…+3°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to +8…+13°C in most parts of the country.

Over the weekend, as atmospheric pressure rises, skies will clear more often and precipitation will be hardly noticeable. As warmer air moves in, the weekend will be spring-like and the thermometer will rise above +15°C in many places.

The start of the new working week will see the air turn slightly cooler again, with cloud areas in most parts of the country bringing rain at some point.
