The anticyclone will cause mostly clear weather, cool nights and mostly slow wind in Latvia. At the start of next week a precipitation zone will approach Latvia from the south-east. This will bring lasting and heavy precipitation to the country’s eastern parts.
In the middle of the week air will become warmer and precipitation will partially calm down, as reported by Latvian State, Geology and Meteorological Centre.
At the end of the week weather will be dictated by the anticyclone hovering above the Baltic Sea and which will soon start moving towards Latvia. On Friday, 29 July, a variable amount of clouds is expected. At night eastern parts of the country will experience short rain. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms. However, the day will pass without considerable precipitation. The wind will blow from the west and north-west. Minimal air temperature at night will drop to +8° C… +13° C (+13° C… +16° C along the coast), whereas maximum air temperature will be +18° C… +21° C.
On Saturday and Sunday the amount of clouds will be variable. On Saturday some regions may experience some short rain.
On the night to Saturday there may be local fog formations. On Sunday afternoon an atmospheric front will approach Latvia from the south, bringing cloudy weather with intense precipitation – heavy rain is expected. At the end of the week wind speed will be slow. Nights are expected to be cool: air temperature will drop to +7° C… +12° C (+12° C… +16° C along the coast). Daytime air temperature will reach +18° C… +21° C.
On Monday because of the precipitation zone eastern and central regions of the country will experience rainy weather. The wind will be slow. Air temperature will be similar to previous days. Next week some regions in Latvia will experience rainfall. Warmer masses of air will flow to Latvia, causing air temperature to rise slightly. At night air temperature will reach +13° C… +18° C and daytime air temperature will reach +20° C… +25° C.
