Weather in Latvia will remain hot in the first days of July, according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Friday, 1 July, will be mostly sunny in Latvia. However, from time to time clouds will cover the sky. Some rain and thunderstorms are expected in morning hours in Kurzeme. There is also a possibility of hail. The wind will be slow to moderate most of the time. It will become stronger during thunderstorms.
The day will be hot: air temperature will reach +30° C… +32° C in most of the country and a couple of degrees cooler along the coast.
The amount of clouds will be volatile on the weekend. Both on the night to Saturday and the afternoon western and central regions will experience rain and even thunderstorms. Eastern parts of Latvia will experience rain on Sunday.
At night air temperature will drop to +14° C… +21° C. Temperatures will remain the highest along the coast. On Saturday maximum air temperature will be +27° C… +31° C and a couple of degrees lower along the coast. On Sunday air temperature will be between +21° C and +26° C.
On Monday and Tuesday the amount of clouds will remain volatile. On Monday eastern regions will experience rain. On Tuesday rain is expected in most of the country. Though showers are expected to be short, there is a possibility of thunderstorms.
The week will start off with slow wind, but on Tuesday wind speed will draw in from the south and south-west and will become stronger. At night air temperature will drop to +13° C… +18° C. Maximum daytime air temperature will reach +22° C… +27° C (+18° C… +22° C along the coast).
According to current forecasts, on Wednesday and Thursday a precipitation zone will pass through Latvia. This means many areas will experience rain. Nights will become cooler – minimal air temperature is expected at +12° C… +17° C, whereas daytime air temperature will not rise above +22° C.
