Latvian Green Party leaves Union of Greens and Parties

On Saturday, 11 June, with an overwhelming majority Latvian Green Party (LZP) voted in favour of leaving the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS).
Of the 268 received ballots 257 were in favour, ten were against and one ballot had no markings.
LZP also planned to discuss the topic of joining LZP, Latvian Association of Regions, Liepaja Party and Uldis Pīlēns Association’s joint candidate list for 14th Saeima elections.
LZP mentioned in its announcement that the party union’s temporary name is Reģionu spēks [Power of regions].

In May there was an announcement of the aforementioned political organisations forming a new joint political platform.
14th Saeima elections are planned to take place in Latvia on the first day of October 2022.
