On Wednesday, 1 June, Scandic Line will open a new ro-ro ferry line connecting Riga and Sweden, as confirmed by representatives of the Freeport of Riga.
The opening event will be held within the territory of Riga Central Terminal at 14:00. Management of Scandic Line, Svecon Freigh, Freeport of Riga authority and Riga Central Terminal will attend the event.
From 1 June onward Scandic Line will start servicing regular ro-ro freight transports between sea port of Riga and the sea port of Sodertalje. It is planned that initially the bulk of freight carried between the two sea ports will be provided by Baltic transport companies and manufacturers. In the future, there are plans to also transport freight from China and Central Asia to the Scandinavian market.
The ferry Midas will course between Riga and Sweden three times a week in each direction, ensuring a new logistical route connecting Riga and Scandinavia.
