Minister of the Interior Marija Golubeva says she has no plans to step down, at least until she has had an opportunity to speak with Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and the management of her political party Attīstībai/Par!, as the minister told Delfi programme Kāpēc on 13 May.
She said this is an issue of the country’s internal stability.
«My political fate is not important, the stability of the country’s security is.»
As previously reported, the Saeima faction and the board of the National Alliance has asked the PM to dismiss the Minister of the Interior over the situation that was observed at the Soviet monument on 9th and 10th May.
The party stressed in its announcement – if the PM and coalition partners do not take into account NA’s opinion, the party may decide to leave the government and pull out its minister.
