Day 76 of war in Ukraine: Search for survivors after missile strikes on Odessa, Russian troops showing low morale and discipline

In Ukraine, on Tuesday, May 10, rescuers were looking for survivors in Odessa, where seven missiles landed and set buildings alight. In Izyum, 44 dead civilians were found, according to local authorities. War analysts said Russian troops started to show low morale and poor discipline in ground battles in Ukraine. Washington signed a lend-lease law to facilitate military supplies to Ukraine, Belarusian Nexta TV, American The Study of War and Ukrainian public broadcaster Ukrinform report.
While the south-western port city of Odessa has not been under attack by Russian ground forces during this phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the city and the surrounding region has been hit regularly by air strikes.
In the beginning of the week, seven missiles have hit Odessa killing one person and injuring five, which have been taken to hospital.
«Seven missiles were fired on the city. However, the enemy’s missile reserves are obviously depleting as the vintage Soviet models were used with failed guidance given their age. Searching for strategic facilities, obsolete missiles managed to hit an ‘extremely dangerous’ shopping mall and a warehouse of finished consumer goods,» the Southern Operational Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated on Facebook as quoted by Ukrinform.
Frontline situation
Fierce fighting was raging on the Donbas front, whith warfare continuing in Luhansk region’s Rubizhne, Popasna and Donetsk region’s Azovstal metallurgy complex in Mariupol.
In the north-eastern Kharkiv region, Ukrainian troops continued counter-attacks to reach the border with Russia. In the region’s Izyum, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, 44 dead civilians have been found in the rubble of a destroyed house. Izyum is currently occupied by Russian troops.
«A total of 44 bodies of civilians were found under the rubble of a 5-storey residential house, which was destroyed by Russian occupiers in early March 2022,» Kharkiv Regional Military Head Oleh Syniehubov stated.
According to Syniehubov, Ukrainian authorities are registering each crime, and those responsible would be brought to justice.
The Study of War evaluated that Russian troops in Ukraine continue to display low morale and poor discipline as fighting in many areas has stalled out against Ukrainian resistance.
