Ukraine continues to receive US intelligence; Trump defends diesel deal

US President Donald Trump stated on the 13th of October that the US continues to provide intelligence to Ukraine and is working on an agreement to end the war, reports Reuters.Trump told reporters that the US continues to supply intelligence to Kyiv and wants the war in Ukraine to end, noting that he is engaging with both Kyiv and Moscow to achieve peace. The US President said that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Putin want the war to end but are hostile toward each other and do not know how to achieve peace.Trump was also asked about the purchase of diesel fuel from Russia—a move that has drawn criticism from both Democrats and Republicans, who argue it violates US sanctions on Russian energy imports imposed in response to Moscow’s aggression in Ukraine. When asked whether Russia could use profits from diesel sales to fund the war effort, Trump avoided a direct answer, stating that the deal was not intended for Americans. Diesel fuel will reportedly be available to everyone worldwide and will not be supplied directly to the US.
