Another oil depot has caught fire in Russia’s Krasnodar region following overnight Ukrainian drone strikes, according to Russian and Ukrainian media reports.
The Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported that three fuel storage tanks caught fire at the oil depot in the village of Poltavskaya after the attack.
According to the Telegram channel Astra, the Poltavskaya oil depot is a regional fuel infrastructure facility supplying petroleum products to parts of Russia’s Krasnodar region and the Republic of Adygea. The storage complex reportedly consists of approximately 28 fuel tanks.
Meanwhile, several Telegram channels also reported drone attacks on Russian-occupied Crimea. The Crimean Wind channel claimed that the Balaklava and Tavricheskaya thermal power plants were targeted, while a powerful explosion was reported near the Kacha military airfield.
Power outages were also reported overnight in several cities across the peninsula, including Simferopol, Yalta and areas near Yevpatoria.
Multiple explosions were reportedly heard in Simferopol. According to Exilenova+, energy infrastructure facilities in the city were struck, causing temporary power outages. The same channel also reported that the city of Sevastopol came under drone attack.
In his nightly address on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv’s operation concerning Crimea had been carefully planned. He added that if Ukraine receives the support discussed during the G7 Summit, it will be able to compel Russia to agree to peace.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia is currently redeploying air defence systems to Moscow and the area surrounding the Crimean Bridge, leaving other regions less protected.
