Cloud cover will dominate the skies on Friday, although conditions will gradually clear from the west during the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Brief rain showers are expected in some areas, while isolated thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are also possible during the night. Fog will thicken in certain areas during the dark hours of the day, reducing visibility.
Winds will blow lightly to moderately from the west. Overnight temperatures will fall to between +8°C and +13°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +13°C to +18°C, with southeastern regions expected to be about one degree warmer.
During the weekend, sunshine will appear frequently, although clouds will occasionally cover the sky. Rain is expected mainly in eastern Latvia.
Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail, becoming gusty in northeastern regions on Sunday.
Fog will again form in some areas during nighttime hours.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to between +7°C and +12°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to between +16°C and +21°C, with some places reaching as high as +23°C on Saturday. Coastal areas, however, will remain cooler, with temperatures mostly ranging from +12°C to +16°C.
Pleasant weather is expected to continue on Monday, with no significant precipitation forecast. Temperatures will remain similar to previous days, and winds will stay light to moderate, becoming gusty at times only in eastern parts of the country.
By the middle of next week, however, the influence of a cyclone is expected to intensify. Conditions will become rainier, winds will strengthen, and gusts could reach 15–19 meters per second on Wednesday. Temperatures will also become cooler, with daytime highs expected to range between +9°C and +14°C.
