Estonian urban transport services company Bolt has attracted 628 million euros in a funding round and is considered worth 7.4 billion euros, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports quoting an announcement by the company.
The firm has proved successful in offering ride-sharing and a food courier services in a number of countries. Its other services are electric scooter and car rentals, as well as more recently – Bolt Market stores.

«We have developed products that offer better and more affordable alternatives for almost every purpose a private car serves», commented Bolt founder and CEO Markus Villig. «We are partnering with cities to help people make the switch towards light vehicles such as scooters and e-bikes and shared mobility options like ride-hailing and car-sharing to transform urban areas back into sustainable, people-friendly spaces».
Bolt Market, one of the Estonian company’s latest products, was developed and started during the pandemic, to operates dozens of stores in ten countries across Europe. The investment will be used to accelerate its expansion in 2022 and also has plans to have hundreds of stores operational by the end of the year, ERR reports, quoting the company.
