Producer prices in Latvia rise against the EU-wide trend

Industrial producer prices in Latvia increased by 1.4% in November last year compared with November 2024, placing Latvia among the 13 European Union (EU) member states where an annual increase was recorded, according to data on products sold on the domestic market published on Thursday by the EU’s statistical office Eurostat.

The sharpest annual increases in November were registered in Bulgaria (+13.8%), Romania (+4.9%) and Estonia (+3.2%). In Lithuania, industrial producer prices were 0.2% higher than in the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the largest declines among EU member states in November were recorded in Luxembourg (-5.5%), Portugal (-3.8%) and Ireland (-3.6%), while producer prices remained unchanged in Cyprus.

On average across the EU,

producer prices in November fell by 1.3% year-on-year, while in the euro area they declined by 1.7%.

Compared with the previous month, October, producer prices increased by 0.6% in the EU and by 0.5% in the euro area.

Month-on-month, producer prices rose in 19 EU member states in October. The strongest increases were recorded in Ireland (+4.4%), Sweden (+1.9%), as well as Bulgaria and Greece (both +1.6%). The sharpest declines were seen in Slovakia (-0.9%), Cyprus (-0.8%) and Spain (-0.5%), while producer prices remained unchanged in Germany, Poland and Romania. In Latvia and Estonia, producer prices rose by 0.4%, while in Lithuania they increased by 1.2%.
